When should my baby see the dentist for the first time?+
The ADA and the American Association of Pediatric Dentists both recommend that your baby sees the dentist by their first birthday, or within six months of getting their first tooth. Establishing good oral health and hygiene habits early in life can help to reduce the risks of chronic conditions associated with poor oral health later in life.
Should baby teeth with cavities be filled?+
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If your child is close to losing a tooth that has decayed, we may recommend skipping a filling. However, if decay is causing your child pain, it should be filled.
Do you provide emergency dentistry for children?+
Yes. We provide emergency dentistry for patients of all ages. Contact us at 609-465-5415 and notify us of your emergency. We will prioritize your child's treatment during normal office hours. If an emergency occurs when we are closed, call and listen to the instructions on the answering message. If your child is experiencing uncontrolled bleeding or hit their head, take them to the nearest emergency room.
